(The meaning of "R.R." is revealed below, so read on, True Deviants. Excelsior!)
Who is the proprietor of Val R.R. McJames' Mystifying Menagerie of Monkey-business?
Who, indeed, is Val R.R. McJames?
"Just an author writing solely to please my own tastes while hoping that others may enjoy coming along for the ride."
Other than that statement of purpose, there is no spoon! There is no "me." I'm not really here. Or at least I am not here to be myself. Essentially, I am here to Role Play as someone who pens prurient peril prose.
Et voila!
It took me about five months here to realize what I was doing. I want 100% anonymity on the Internet. I may admit my age, though only to shock you with my antiquity. But I am not here to be myself.
I am here to portray my author-self as the writer of the works I share, namely: Val R.R. McJames. Why the middle initials? Because of J.R.R. Tolkien and George R.R. Martin and the fact the letters stand for "Required Reading" at Starfleet Academy, proposing an extravagantly optimistic view of the longevity of my work. Hehehe.
Val R.R. McJames is my fictional characterization of my author-self as a person who has grand adventures and serves as the den mother to an ever-growing stable of young superheroines who live in her home at stately McJames Manor.
The name "Val" is gender neutral, but the character Val R.R. McJames is female. She is just a bit older than her charges, perhaps 28-32 years old. She has those crucial few years of experience that make her a little wiser than the girls under her care, who tend to be more like 18-22 years old. Think of Gal Godot or Christian Serratos or some similarly attractive, dark-haired actress as playing the part of Val R.R. McJames.
Don't try to see the real me, but treat this account as being run by the person who shares comments "in-character" under other people's Deviations. Just as FightGirl or YCBatgirl will reply to comments in-character, so do I intend to reply in-character as my author-self and as her characters.
I know this won't make a lot of sense to some people, but I am hoping for a little bit of understanding. I want my Real Life to be completely separate from my edgy online presence. No one in my Real Life knows about my sassy side, and I intend to keep it that way. I've seen people close their accounts here due to privacy breaches, and I am determined this is NOT going to happen to me.
The persona of Val R.R. McJames is primarily a writer, but she also indulges in Role Playing in Second Life. She will post her stories and some snapshots of her adventures in Second Life. She is also trying to learn to use 3-D image-creation software.
There may not be a lot of separation between Val R.R. McJames and my Real Life self, but Val will be younger and sexier and braver than I am. She will experience the excitement that I can only wish I had known firsthand in my younger days.
Come and get to know Val R.R. McJames. Come along for the ride on her adventures and enjoy the exploits of the heroines in her tales. More than anything else, just have fun visiting Val R.R. McJames' Mystifying Menagerie of Monkey-business.
Hurrah and Huzzah!
