Natural Abilities/Gifts/Talents: Jen has an extremely high level of physical fitness, agility, acrobatic ability, and martial arts training apparently originating in her upbringing at a secret jungle facility. Although favoring her right hand, she exhibits a high degree of ambidexterity. Jen shows remarkable powers of memorization and language skill, having been exposed to multiple languages at the secret compound and becoming fluent in many major languages while easily learning new ones. She also has keen affinity for animals and natural rapport with them; they are truly her friends.
Superheroine Powers: Jen was one of the children raised from birth to be perfect soldiers, assassins, and spies by a secret organization at one of their hidden jungle facilities. As such, she has achieved essentially the pinnacle of human potential for physical fitness, agility, acrobatic ability, and martial arts training. Her time away from the organization living in harmony with the natural environment of the jungle has allowed her to exceed even the highest levels she could ever have achieved under their influence. Jen’s ability to communicate with animals borders on a potentially psychic level.
Jen has an extreme sensitivity to physical arousal that seems to originate in her mental conditioning as a special female agent designed to make use of her body as a tool for infiltration and espionage. This seems to originate in both her training and her very genetics, as though the process of creating the children from birth involved manipulating DNA. It could be meant to be used as part of seduction, or it could be a devious failsafe to bring rogue agents back under the evil organization’s influence.
But now that Jen has broken free of the mental conditioning of the secret organization, she exhibits extremely strong will power and resistance to mind control. The organization does want to recapture Jen though, and apparently believes it is possible to re-exert its control over her. Should they fail to reclaim what they view as their "property," they will reluctantly settle for eliminating Jen if they can't control her.
Jenissa Biography/Origin Story
Jenissa, or Jen, grew up at what was for all intents and purposes a military academy run by a secret organization developing the perfect human soldiers, assassins, and spies. Hidden in the deepest jungle, the place was all Jen knew of the world for the first 18 years of her life. Her daily routine there was completely regimented, with mental and physical conditioning designed to achieve maximum human potential for her body and to hone her mind to follow orders unquestioningly.
While Jen was at the secret academy, a slightly older male named Will mentored her. He seemed to pay special attention to her and to favor her, and she not only enjoyed this but found herself attracted to him. Jen never had a chance to find out where this would lead though, as the organization frowned on what they deemed “fraternization,” and Jen was forced to board a plane to leave her birth facility soon after she turned 18.
Fortunately for Jen, fate intervened during that trip, though she does not recall the exact details of the flight. At 18 years of age, Jen may have reached a point in her development where she was basically going into special, advanced training that she vaguely recalls had to do with infiltration as a female agent making use of her natural feminine wiles and charms. This may explain her extreme sensitivity to physical arousal as being some part of her conditioning and even genetic makeup.
But the plane never made it to its destination, crashing in the jungle during a freak storm that broke communication and tracking signals to its base. Lost to the evil organization, Jen was found by a kind tribe of local residents who took her in and befriended her. She grew to learn their ways and to break free of her rigorous mental conditioning. The tribe's love of nature and way of living in harmony with the natural world seemed perfect to counteract her training to kill on command.
For four years, Jen grew to love life in the jungle free from the influence of the shadowy organization that had created and raised her. She befriended two leopard cubs after being forced to take the life of their mother -- who was wounded by poachers and crazed with rage -- in order to save a child just outside of the tribe's main village. Naming the male cub Mekoto and the female Mekumba, Jen also took the hide of the mother and fashioned her leopard-skin bikini and loincloth, becoming a foster mother to the pair even in her appearance.
There were times when groups of heavily armed men and women came searching through the jungle, but whenever that happened, it almost always turned out to be poachers, and Jen and the tribe dealt with them swiftly and surely. When the roving armed bands did not appear to be poachers, they were nonetheless dealt with permanently to protect Jen, and no survivors were ever allowed to make it out alive.
But Jen's protected life of innocent harmony with nature came to an end when a masked man finally found her alone in the jungle, as told in the story "Jen of the Jungle - Part 01." From that day forward, Jen would be closely hounded, and she now knew the organization would never stop pursuing her and being a threat to her adopted tribal family. Her only recourse was to become the huntress, much like the leopard whose hide she wore close to her skin.
Now both hunted and on the hunt, Jen embarked on a series of adventures that would take her to exotic locales throughout the jungle, back to the place of her birth at the secret compound, and eventually around the world to prowl and pounce on even the very head of the hydra-like organization that was a source of terror across the globe.
